FDA Building Garden Sculpture
College Park, Maryland, 2002

The US government GSA department commissioned Michael Singer in 1999 to design and implement a landscape and sculpture project for the Food and Drug Administration's new facility in College Park, Maryland. The art/landscape project encompasses a three acre area that recreates a natural wetland and pond habitat with trails leading into the building for workers, and paths across the site for the neighboring community. The sculptural elements are comprised of a series of low walls and indigenous plantings in gardens across 600 feet of the site that integrate the naturalized three acre area with the manicured landscape near the building. Design completed in 1999, implementation 2002.
